We have an announcement that we would like to make.
Going into 2020 we have some resolutions that we’d like to stay true to. Connecting with our audience on a personal level and taking action based on your feedback are among them but this is regarding a key resolution of ours: honoring the spirit of transparency. We find this important as there are not only unlimited brands at your fingertips today, but there are a multitude of jewelry brands for you to choose from and we want to be the best one that we can be.
TRANSPARENCY: The lack of hidden agendas or conditions, accompanied by the availability of full information required of collaboration, cooperation, and collective decision making. Transparency implies openness, communication, and accountability.
Something that we take vast pride in (as you hopefully already know) is that we only work in 100% 14k gold. This is so we can offer you jewelry that is not only on-trend but jewelry that will last you a lifetime. Jewelry that will never tarnish or turn your skin green. Jewelry that you can take on vacation, skinny dip in the ocean with and shower with (although these may compromise with our recommended jewelry care, we still get it.) This is important to us as we believe jewelry should be an investment in longevity and in yourself.
Due to gold being a publicly traded commodity, the price of this raw material is no secret. And because we purchase it at market value that fluctuates literally by the minute (check it out here), we are at the mercy of the sporadic price increases. When the price of gold increases, we take the hit as our prices to the public stay the same. It is our job to inform you, the consumer, of these changes in an educational way so you can make an informed decision on where you shop.
And we take our job seriously.
As we approach our one year anniversary (OMG!), we are happy to announce that we have been able to keep our prices nearly the same as when we launched back in January of 2019. Since our launch, gold has increased 20.26%. Woah. As a small team of two (and growing!) we are proud of what we have accomplished but in order to grow, we must adapt.
This is why we are announcing, in full transparency, that on January 29th 2020, our prices will be increasing. We are letting you know this ahead of time for a few different reasons:
- To be transparent. Our hair is not full of secrets.
- To be fair. You might have had your eye on a piece the last couple of months. We want to give you the opportunity to purchase it at the price that you expect it to be at.
- To educate. Knowledge is power and we want to provide you with information to make your own informed decisions on where you spend your hard-earned money.
Do not panic. Our prices are not going through the roof by any means with most increasing by only 5-10% as we still stand by our mission: to provide you with jewelry that is accessible, on-trend, and of course, 14k gold. Although we are already on the low end compared to other gold retailers, we are still determined to keep our prices as fair and competitive as possible and realistically, some of you may have not even noticed in the first place. But in the spirit of transparency, we are letting you, our loyal and appreciated customer, know.
